Creating your account

Open Canva access is invite-only. Every sign-up requires a valid invite code in addition to your email, password, and name.

Request or redeem an invite

  • If you already have a code, keep it handy for sign-up.
  • If you don’t, use the Request Invite option on the login/signup screens to submit a request.

Sign up with your invite

On the sign-up form:
  • Enter your invite code (required)
  • Add your name, email address, and a secure password
  • Submit to create your account
Email-specific invites automatically skip verification; other invites will prompt you to verify your email.

Access your dashboard

After sign-up (and verification, if required), you’ll land on the app and can start creating or organizing sessions immediately.

Viewing account settings

Access your account settings to manage:
  • Profile information: Update your name
  • Password: Change your password
Email changes aren’t currently supported. Sign up with the email address you intend to keep.

Security best practices

Use strong passwords: Choose a strong, unique password for your account.

Troubleshooting

  • Verify you’re using the correct email address
  • Check if you need to verify your email address
  • Try resetting your password
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Check your spam or junk folder
  • Verify the email address is correct
  • Wait a few minutes and check again
  • Request a new verification email if needed
Currently, email address changes are not supported. You’ll need to create a new account with a different email address if you need to use a different email.
