New features
Image inpainting — You can now edit specific areas of a generated image without regenerating the entire thing. Select a region using the brush tool, describe the change you want, and Open Canva replaces just that section while preserving the rest. This works on any generated image directly from the image editing toolbar — no downloads or external tools needed.Brand kit — Save your brand colors, logos, and style preferences to a reusable kit that you can apply to any generation. When a brand kit is active, the prompt assistant and model settings automatically incorporate your brand guidelines, keeping output consistent across sessions. Manage your kits from Settings > Preferences.Updates
Faster multi-model comparison — Generating with multiple models in a single batch now runs more efficiently. Results from faster models appear immediately while slower models continue processing, so you can start reviewing output sooner. Combined with model sets, this makes comparing models across a prompt significantly quicker.Improved template discovery — The template gallery introduced last week now includes category filters and a search bar, making it easier to find templates that match your creative direction. Templates also display the model and aspect ratio used, so you know what to expect before applying one.Collaborative session permissions — Session collaborators can now be assigned granular permissions beyond view-only and full-edit. Owners can allow prompt submission without asset deletion, or restrict model selection to a specific model set. Adjust permissions from the session settings page.Bug fixes
- Inpainting mask accuracy — Fixed an issue where the brush mask could shift slightly when the canvas was zoomed, causing edits to land in the wrong region.
- Template aspect ratio — Applying a template now correctly sets the aspect ratio to match the template configuration instead of keeping your previous session setting.
- Collaborative cursor sync — Resolved a delay where collaborator cursors could appear frozen for a few seconds after joining a shared session.
