New features
Onboarding tour and help hub — New users are now guided through an interactive walkthrough that highlights core features like generating images, managing sessions, and using the prompt assistant. After the tour, a persistent help hub stays available in the bottom corner so you can revisit tips or access support at any time.Multi-format video downloads — You can now download generated videos in MP4, GIF, WebP, or PNG (frame extract) formats. Choose your preferred format from the download menu on any video asset — useful for sharing to platforms with specific format requirements or pulling a still frame without a separate tool.Mobile-friendly asset browsing — The image and video carousel now works smoothly on mobile devices. Swipe through generations, view asset details, and access actions like download and upscale from a touch-optimized layout. The asset detail panel also adapts to smaller screens with collapsible sections and a fixed action bar.Updates
Proactive upscale resolution limits — Before you start an upscale, the app now shows the maximum resolution available for your plan tier. This prevents failed upscale attempts and helps you decide whether to upgrade before committing credits.Refreshed branding — The Open Canva logo has been updated across the app and website, alongside a refreshed homepage banner featuring trusted-by partner logos. Social preview images have also been updated with the new visual style.Email preferences — You can now control which emails you receive from Open Canva. Manage your notification preferences from account settings to opt in or out of generation alerts, billing updates, and product announcements.Stronger account security — All stored media now uses private storage with signed URLs, ensuring your generated images and videos are only accessible to you. Combined with additional security hardening across the platform, your account and assets are better protected.Bug fixes
- Chat assistant model selection — Fixed a crash that could occur when the prompt assistant suggested an unsupported or invalid model, ensuring the assistant only recommends models available in your plan.
- What’s New dialog — Resolved an issue where the What’s New modal could fail to load or display outdated content after a platform update.
- Missing reference thumbnails — Fixed a bug where reference image thumbnails could appear blank in the prompt editor if the source file was no longer cached.
- Video player stability — Resolved a crash in the video player that could occur when checking playback status on certain Mux-hosted videos.
